Glycerol Formal
Gabriel Performance Products uses only vegetable or plant-based USP Kosher glycerin in manufacturing our glycerol formal (glyform). We never use tallow-based glycerin, crude or semi-refined glycerin streams in our process, which means you always get the highest levels of quality and purity available anywhere on the market today.

Glycerol formal is used in veterinary pharmaceuticals as a carrier in the manufacture of animal injectable solutions (such as ivermectin), pastes, or pour-on products for cattle, sheep, swine, or horses. It is also used as an additive for water-based inks to improve coalescence, as well as in such applications as:

  • Specialty solvent used in place of highly flammable or toxic solvents (IPA , acetone or methylene chloride), making it an environmentally-friendly choice for coating or paint stripper applications
  • Specialty embalming preparations
  • Chemical reactants
  • Hydrogel applications (TENS or muscle stimulation electrodes)
  • Binder solvent to produce foundry core in casting processes

Glycerol Formal Stabilized

Vegetable/plant-based glycerol formal with a stabilizer package for guaranteed product freshness for two years.

Glycerol Formal Stabilized

Vegetable/plant-based glycerol formal stabilized contains a specific stabilizer package that protects the product from oxygen exposure and offers guaranteed product freshness for two years. Glycerol formal stabilized is a slightly viscous, clear, colorless liquid having a very low odor and toxicity profile. It is soluble in water, chloroform, and other low molecular weight alcohols and ketones. It is also miscible with essential and fatty oils or their esters.

Glycerol Formal Unstabilized

Vegetable/plant-based glycerol formal without any stabilizer or chemicals to protect it from product degradation over time.

Glycerol Formal Unstabilized

Vegetable/plant-based glycerol formal unstabilized does not contain stabilizers or chemicals that protect it from product degradation. Oxygen exposure can adversely affect peroxide levels over time. Glycerol formal unstabilized is a slightly viscous, clear, colorless liquid having a very low odor and toxicity profile. It is soluble in water, chloroform, and other low molecular weight alcohols and ketones. It is also miscible with essential and fatty oils or their esters.
