When Gabriel Performance Products purchased Occidental Chemical Company’s Ashtabula plant in 2001, we acquired the expertise and facilities to manufacture mercaptan epoxy curing agents according to formulas invented and originally patented in 1966 by Occidental’s predecessor, Diamond Shamrock Chemicals. For more than 40 years, the same personnel, using the same equipment, have manufactured mercaptan epoxy curing agents at our plant. This continual capability, and the fact that we handle the major raw materials in bulk, makes us not only the world’s expert in the manufacture of mercaptan epoxy curing agents, but also the world’s low-cost supplier.
